Hello - I'm Giles

I'm an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. I'm also autistic / ADHD. I offer a space for people to talk about neurodivergence - this may because you wonder about it for yourself, are awaiting or have received a diagnosis or have family members with or without a diagnosis.

While my experience may be different to yours (although parallel stories reassure me this is often not the case), you may find it useful to meet with someone who is autistic, late-diagnosed, has experience of parenting, relationships and the day to day challenges faced by neurodivergent people.

In particular I provide -

  • A place where you do not have to please or meet external expectations.

  • An opportunity to explore affirming frameworks with which to think about yourself.

  • The possibility to rethink and understand your history in a way that does not involve harsh self-criticism.

  • An exploration of ways of living which work for you.

Areas I can help with include -

  • Anxious or depressed feelings

  • Acceptance of yourself

  • Planning for and making sense of diagnoses

  • Relationships, friendships and family life

  • Your history - is there another account to tell?

  • Employment stress

  • Understanding your styles of thinking and perceiving

  • Managing day to day living and promoting balance

  • Regulation, resilience and autistic burnout

  • Dealing with change and transition
